Hey Joe, this video contains a True Story investigation behind a major player in the retreat videos. Both hard hitting and funny. The inclusion of a Sony controlled property required a soundtrack song swap for YouTube.
Official 2006 Silence
Hey Joe (again), same True Story like investigation that has been great all these years, but without that Sony controlled property which rendered it unplayable on YouTube. Whoever said it required a song swap forgot another option: silence. Poignant silence.
What about all the other Retreat Videos?
Disc 1 contains The Official 2006 Silly Retreat Video and is complete and streaming, except for that problem which required an edit. Disc 2 lists four titles and only Beach Babes Blowoff streams without issue.
- On Her Majesty's Secret Service-have complete video-but a sequence wherein the true nature of employees are revealed, via lip sync, results in a worldwide block. It's not the true nature that results in the the block, it is the song. An edit that would have the mouths and movements match the audio (lip sync) of this blocked song with another version of the song and/or digital video manipulation has not been performed, yet. Additionally, the closing credit song that starts as Chris informs Walt that she can't do one thing but can do another is also a problem, though maybe no one would even notice a quick swap.
- Desperate Hours-cuts off mid sentence as Walt talks about finding out what is happening to something disappearing from the somewhere. About 12 minutes of video if you count the John Engels introduction.**
- 1989 Employee Orientation Video-problem with this video is that it is not on the disc. Zero minutes.***
The retreat videos in this Buzz are from the 2 disc set cataloged as DVD: KO-02K6SRV-SSDE. It is the only known extant source of retreat videos. These discs along with plastic dvd shell and color printed label were obtained at a backyard BBQ in Pittsford, NY in 2019. We hope there maybe others: Other retreat videos and BBQs.
